EDISON CYLINDERS ARE THE NEW BLACK

Just when you thought vinyl and 8-track was making a comeback. New York hipster musician, Jed Davis (Collider’s lead vocalist) has gone one better with an Edison Cylinder wax recording of his new single Yuppie Exodus from Dumbo.
Technically, it’s molded from plastic as wax becomes brittle and is easily destroyed, as seen in the hilarious/heartbreaking fail video we’ve linked below.
The single was reproduced into cylindrical form via the British Vulcan Cylinder Records company, whose catalogue features a number of artists. The company also does customised cylinders, which is good to know if you’re thinking of releasing a single yourself, particularly if your band has a steampunk look.
Davis released his single as a limited edition of fifty cylinders, each signed and numbered.
